Short description

The Montréal meeting has been organized by the Lux luminescence dating laboratory of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). As official convener, Michel Lamothe wishes to thank Magali Barré and Sébastien Huot, then fellow researchers at the Lux lab for their efficient role in organizing and managing the meeting. The XIVth LED meeting was held in July 2014, in a former hotel restored in a student residence by the McGill University. Attendance reached 265 plus delegates, professors, researchers and students, from more than 30 countries. The venue was particularly efficient for scientific exchanges as the oral and poster presentations were held in the same premisses where most of the delegates were staying. We invited three keynote speakers and organized a special workshop in feldspar chemistry and physics. A mid-week field trip brought the attendees in Southern Québec to visit local glacial and archaeological sceneries. The post-meeting field trip was articulated around the Quaternary geological history of southern Quebec.
